What an amazing travel experience.
After a 20 hour flight delay caused students to miss their classes a pilot wrote 32 absences. This group of students along with their parents was travelling to London’s Gatwick airport but heavy fog prevented them from returning until the following day.
Ironically, the captain, Wayne Mott, was joking over the loud speaker that he’d write a note addressing the school to explain the absences. Little did he realize the students and a teacher would take him up on his offer.
According to The Daily Mail, one of the students, Joshua Skuse, an 8 year old student at Herne Junior School in Petersfield, Hampshire, showed his letter to his teacher which read:
“I am very sorry that Joshua was not at school today. He has been involved in a secret mission in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea at very short notice. We hope that this mission will soon be complete and that he will see you bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on Tuesday morning.”
Now this is sure to be an adventure these kids, parents and teacher will remember for a long time. Apparently the Joshua’s teacher later invited Captain Mott to come in and give a talk to the students.
Now this is first class service for sure. When travelling with short or long distances it’s important to be prepared and having the right essentials can help a lot. A few recommended items to have available are a travel pillow for rest and relaxation along with a travel sewing kit for quick mending. These are just a couple of important travel essentials.
